Universal & Highly Customizeable Bottle Mount/Cage, June 10, 2009

This waterbottle mount can be used horizontally (as shown in the product picture) on your handlebars, for instance, or used vertically on your seatpost or your frame, etc. It has a small metric hex/allen screw that can be used to change the orientation of the mount. Other than switching orientation, there are no tools needed to mount this waterbottle cage!

The mount comes with ZERO instructions, which isn’t cool, but using it is very straightforward and pretty much common sense.

It comes with a tiny black rubber shim that you place between the clamp (touching the bike) and the frame/post of the bike. This keeps the mount from slipping and sliding around.

The mount is bit heavier than it needs to be but it’s due to the clamp and quick-release. The actual cage portion of this product is quite light.

The actual waterbottle cage can be unscrewed from the clamp and used, standalone on bikes that already have braze-ons for waterbottle…

This Bottle Cage works just as it should. It holds securely and the bottle can be retrieved easily. The camlock on the mount will fit and hold on other than round tubes as well (i.e. it fits perfectly on the triangular grab bar on my tractor). I just ordered two more of them. ‘Nuf said!!!

Watch Your Paint, June 25, 2009

Wanted something easy to use and removable. It is easy but when you remove it, you will see it has scratched the paint where you installed it. The makers need to put some sort of coating on the inside to keep this from happening. If I had it to do all over again I would still buy it but take a bit of dip coating and paint it on the inside of the clamping area. This will keep it from attempting to rotate and keep it from scratching the surface you are clamping it to. The company who made this should have taken this into consideration before selling them.

Last year I ordered my first deck of Black Tiger playing cards from Ellusionist. Like many others who consider purchasing this deck, I was skeptical at first as to how great these cards really were. These are just lovely- I bought them to use together with a black spider deck and the combination of the black and white and red from both decks is just what I was looking for. A bit goth and sci-fi and geek. Unique and interesting, but still usable fun cards. Mostly I play a version of rummy with my family, but sometimes a bit of solitaire or card houses. Just pretty entertainment. I don’t plan on using them for magic, as I think they were meant to be. But I think they would work well for that. They are very durable and slick, but don’t show fingerprints easily. I’m happy with this purchase!

The Bicycle Black Tiger deck was originally intended for the avid magician. It includes a regular deck of playing cards (54 cards including jokers) with an unusual color design. The face of the card obviously is black, and the white design of the pips, faces, and suits really makes this deck look awesome(especially under a black light). Great for any collector, magician, or regular game play, these cards are very high quality, and could add excitement to a Holloweeen card night.

Good Solution, June 5, 2008

This thing works quite well for carrying a small pack on a carbon bike. It’s easy to mount and plenty strong, given it’s low weight. The mating Topeak bag goes on and off easily and is convenient to use. Fully loaded for a weekend trip (staying in hotels) my rack and bag came to about 7 lbs, which is light enough not to be much of a drag.

I found that the rack mounting settled-in a bit after the first few miles of riding, so be sure to tighten up the screws after a bit. And be sure that you don’t use this on a carbon seatpost. Topeak says this in their user guide, but they could make it clearer in the sales literature.

Lasted a just under a year, September 21, 2011

I commute 7.5miles every day. Not quite 365 but maybe 240. I bought this after a cheaper version disaster. 9 months later the bolt broke riding. I got that replaced under warranty. Not the weld has gone. I admit I have exceeded the load capacity in the summer once a week with softball but not that much. Its just not as well made as I hoped. Sorry. But its is better than some of the very cheap options, they lasted less the 4 months!

Fits all size bottles I have tried thus far. Although it might look less sturdy than the regular (metal) Modula Cage, it has the added benefit of not rattling if you use a metal water bottle (like I do).

Pros:

Great concept.

Tension dialer at the bottom is a fantastic feature

No rattling. Plastic parts nice help keep things quiet.

Flexes a little so bottles can be pulled out with little struggle.

Cons

The cage doesn’t feel as beefy as it looks. (not a big complaint)

I wish the cage could accept the larger liter sized bottles but it’s too narrow. It fits normal bottles perfectly. Also grabs thin bottles (like a red bull can) quite well.

A solid 4 stars.

Seemed kind of like cheap plastic, so I bent the crap out of it trying to break it and it didnt so its not cheap plastic. Very light and will adjust to about anything. I bought it for a wierd water bottle that I have that is a tapper size. It wouldnt fit but anything else will. I am going to mount it as my secondary. Will also clamp down on non water bottle stuff in a pinch.
